Miles Davis - Time After Time

"Time After Time" was a single by singer Cyndi Lauper, the second from her album She's So Unusual. It reached number one on the U.S. charts on June 9, 1984, and remained there for two weeks. Worldwide, the song is her most commercially successful single after "Girls Just Want to Have Fun".

Lauper co-wrote "Time After Time" with Philadelphia rocker Rob Hyman of The Hooters, who also supplied backup vocals to the song. She indicated much of the lyrics were written about occurrences in the studio and her life at the time. The line "the second hand unwinds" referred to producer Rick Chertoff's watch which was winding backwards.

You're Under Arrest is a 1985 album recorded by Miles Davis that saw Miles mix pop tunes with political statements about racism, pollution and war. Among other tracks, the album featured Davis' interpretations of two contemporary pop songs: Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" and Michael Jackson's "Human Nature".

Todays tune is recorded at Molde, Norway, 1984. Some history about the night in Molde, on the concert day, Miles was sick from food poisoning, and stuck in Paris!
A Falcon jet was hired, and flew him up. He started to get better, He visited a jazzclub at his hotel, with Elvin Jones playing, and he got into the right mood. The concert started at 01.00 AM, and is later known as "The Miracle Concert" or "The Midnite Sabbath". "Time after Time" was the highlight of this sabbath with Miles. With John Scofield, Bob Berg, Al Foster, Bobby Erwing and Darryl Jones. Enjoy!
