Robert Plant & Alison Krauss - Polly Come Home

Raising Sand is a collaboration album by rock singer Robert Plant and bluegrass-country singer Alison Krauss. A record that is excellently suited when you want to make it a little nicely and cozy, for example, spruce up at a dinner with your girlfriend or just a cozy gathering in front of the fireplace at home with a glass of red.

Todays tune "Polly (Come Home)" is written by Gene Clark and is one of two songs that Gene Clark wrote that Plant & Krauss did on Rasing Sand and is really beautifully done by Plant and Alison Krauss

The two songs "Polly (Come Home)" and "Through the Morning, Through the Night"—were originally recorded by Dillard & Clark for their 1969 album, Through the Morning Through the Night.

Apart from the influence of Plant and Krauss' vocal styles and talent, the album's producer, T-Bone Burnett is credited with giving the album its skeletal musical style.

As a bonus for today we give you folks the orginal version by the Ex Byrdsman Gene Clark's exquisite country-folk yearner, with harmony vocal by Doug Dillard's girlfriend Donna Washburn, from Dillard & Clark's 1969 album, Through The Morning, Through The Night.
